WHAT IS THE WATFORD CULTURAL SUPPORT & DEVELOPMENT GRANT?

Watford Borough Council has partnered with Watford Palace Theatre (WPT) to deliver a programme of support and grants to Watford-based cultural or creative businesses, collectives and freelancers that have been impacted by COVID-19 restrictions, and would benefit from targeted support to help them resume, develop and improve their operations.
The programme aims to help retain talent in Watford and improve creative and business skills so that they can continue to contribute to the vibrancy of the town.
For those who meet the application requirements, programme opportunities will include:

Bespoke training.

Developmental and mentoring opportunities.

Match funding.

Funding to develop new products and services.
-
Funding for digital and other business equipment.

Professional consultancy services to improve the sustainability of the business, for example marketing, digital and accountancy services.

Who can apply?
A cultural or creative business, collective or freelancer can apply if they meet the following criteria:

They are based in Watford.

They have been impacted by COVID-19 restrictions.

How much is the grant worth?

Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available and where possible, applicants will be asked to provide match funding.
