The UK has left the EU and is leaving the EU single market and customs union at midnight on 31 December 2020. The end of the transition period will affect citizens, businesses, as well as travel to and from the EU. There are new rules for businesses and citizens from 1 January 2021.
The government has created a checker tool for preparing for transition to help you find out what your business may need to do to prepare, what's changing in your industry and information on specific rules and regulations. The tool will take you through a series of simple questions and once answered you will be presented with a list of relevant guidance that relates to your business and the actions you need to take to be ready for January 2021.
There will be some significant changes to the way businesses trade and operate in the UK. Even if you think changes aren't relevant or won't affect you and your business you should still check now to make sure you comply with the new rules.
