WHAT IS THE WATFORD WOMEN IN BUSINESS SUPPORT PROGRAMME?

 

Watford Borough Council has partnered with Branduin Business Support to deliver a new eight week course specifically designed for women based in Watford who are thinking about setting up their own business or, have a new or early-stage business.

 

This FREE programme of events and one-to-one advice is helping 13 women develop the skills they need to help set up and run successful businesses. 

 

Key topics covered in the course include:

 

  • Week 1 – Setting Goals, and Starting a Business

  • Week 2 – Developing your Business Model and Value Proposition

  • Week 3 – Market Research and Testing Your Business Idea

  • Week 4 – Personal Survival Budget, Sales forecast, Cash-flow forecast

  • Week 5 – Finance, Accounting, HMRC requirements

  • Week 6 – Sustainability & Delivering Social Value

  • Week 7 – Marketing: Social Media, Website, Selling Online

  • Week 8 – Business Presentations and R&R

Who can take part?

The programme is aimed at women based in the Watford Borough Council administrative area who want to start, grow and run a successful business.

 

The programme has welcomed women who, for personal and family reasons, have taken significant time off work or an extended break from their chosen careers, and are evaluating the prospect of self-employment.
